With a majority government elected on less than 44% of the vote, we need Proportional Representation more than ever.

The Liberal Democrats got 1.2 million more votes than in the last general election. Our vote share was up 4% across the country yet we ended up with one fewer seat. The tories share increased by 1% - result 80 more seats.

The general election result has made the stifling effect of First Past the Post painfully clear to groups and campaigns right across politics: from the Remain campaigns to the Brexit Party, from the climate movement to trade unions.
